Bowmanville • Size and capacity

Measure your pile. Compare the bins.

Multiply a roughly rectangular pile's length, width and height in feet, then divide by 27 to estimate cubic yards. Use the result as a starting point, not a booking recommendation. Air gaps, awkward items, the bin's usable interior and material weight can change which bin is suitable for your Bowmanville project.

Estimate your pile

Enter length, width and height in decimal feet. For example, 6 inches is 0.5 feet.

Your estimate will appear here.

Volume only, not a bin recommendation. Confirm usable dimensions, materials and weight before booking.

How should you estimate the pile?

Group similar items into a few manageable piles and estimate each one separately. Add those volumes for a rough total. Do not stack items dangerously just to measure them. For a room clearout, write down large pieces that cannot be compacted instead of pretending the entire room is solid waste.

Use the same unit for every measurement. In this calculator, 2.6 means 2.6 feet, not 2 feet 6 inches. Twelve inches equals one foot, so convert mixed feet-and-inches measurements before entering them.

What do the inventory numbers actually tell you?

The five listed footprints calculate to approximately 5.8, 14.4, 14.8, 15.6 and 16.3 cubic yards using a rectangular-volume formula. These figures come from the supplied inventory dimensions. They are not newly invented product labels, loading guarantees or measurements of usable internal space.

Bin and Gone also advertises a 14-yard option and other sizes. Confirm which physical bin is available and its usable dimensions when you call. A mathematical result that is close to a nominal size does not establish that those two descriptions are interchangeable.

When should you stop relying on the calculator?

Ask for guidance if your load includes roofing, masonry, tile, soil, appliances or unusually long items. A bin can reach an agreed weight limit before its volume is used. The calculator cannot assess material acceptance, driveway suitability, loading assistance or the space a delivery truck needs.

  • Describe the material, not just the volume
  • Mention rigid items that cannot be broken down safely
  • Confirm limits and price before booking

A couple of common questions.

Does the result reserve a bin?

No. It is an estimate only. Call or text to agree on a suitable bin, materials, dates and quote. Sending an enquiry does not create a booking.

Can I round up to the next bin automatically?

Use rounding only as a rough comparison. The actual opening, item shape, access and weight still need to be checked before a bin is selected.
