What should happen before the first item goes in?
Create separate groups for keep, donate, approved waste and items needing another disposal route. Label anything that must not be discarded. This matters when several people are helping: an open bin can otherwise become the destination for items nobody has checked.
Look at the route from the room to the bin. Remove trip hazards and consider doors, stairs and turns. Use suitable help or professional assistance for items you cannot handle safely. Bin rental does not itself include carrying or lifting labour.
How can you use the space sensibly?
Arrange approved items so they sit securely without depending on an unstable pile. Avoid creating a high stack at one end while useful space remains elsewhere. Ask the provider for any bin-specific loading directions, including how doors or access points should be used.
Do not climb into a filled bin, jump on waste or improvise ways to compress it. If an object cannot be loaded safely within the agreed limits, pause and discuss the next step. Saving space is not a reason to take risks or damage the container.
What if the bin fills before the job is finished?
Stop adding material and contact the provider. A second collection or a revised rental may be needed, but neither is assumed to be included in the original quote. Keep the remaining waste separate while the next arrangement is confirmed.
Check for protruding boards, furniture legs or other items above the rim before collection. The guide's volume and pickup-load graphics are planning aids, not permission to build a mound above the sides.

A couple of common questions.
Can a tarp make an overfilled bin acceptable?
No. Do not treat a cover as a way to exceed the agreed loading limit. Contact the provider if material is above the rim or does not fit safely.
Can I add bags from another project?
Check first. The original acceptance and weight terms apply to the agreed load, not automatically to every extra bag or material you find later.
